Margaret
Hoybach, a multi-talented artist specializing in watercolors, has
the ability to transform her vision of the world into unique and
beautiful works of art. Extensive painting trips to Europe, the
Orient and throughout the United States have given her a rich inspiration
for her watercolors. Her work centers on close-ups of nature and
combines integral detail with impressionistic interpretation. Viewers
also take pleasure in her vibrant colors that highlight her scenes
from her many travels to Provence, France.
Hoybach,
a native of Washington, DC, lives near Charleston, SC. Her background
in art includes a degree from the University of Maryland School
of Fine Arts
and
advanced studies at
the University of California at Davis. A significant portion of
her professional career has been dedicated to conducting art workshops
and seminars around the United States and Europe. Hoybach
lectures to art guilds, professional organizations, and is a guest
lecturer at colleges, universities, and museums.
She has an educational television series "The Artistry of
Margaret Hall Hoybach" which is
produced and shown in the Washington, DC area.
"Colors
of France: A Painting Pilgrimage", by Margaret Hall Hoybach
and Joan Brown, is the story of her journey through France to
Monet's Gardens, in Giverny near Paris. It was published in 2002
by
First Light Books.
Hoybach
is a five time Merit Award winner in the South Carolina Watercolor
Society Annual Exhibition. She was selected in 1993 as the Commemorative
Artist for the Sesquicentennial Celebration of The Citadel, Charleston,
SC. She has had numerous one man exhibitions throughout the United
States, and has also exhibited in France and England.
